Car hire in Adelaide Airport

International drivers are welcome to rent cars in Adelaide Airport. You just need to hold a full unrestricted driver licence from your home country, with a formal English translation if it is in another language.

Our pricing works slightly differently from traditional car rental companies. When you borrow a car with Uber Carshare, you pay for both the time you have the car and the distance you drive, as well as your damage cover and booking fee.

Uber Carshare trips are covered through Mobility Mutual - a member-owned mutual risk protection fund that’s specifically designed for our car-sharing community. Each time you borrow a car with Uber Carshare you will be able to select the excess option which best suits your needs.

Uber Carshare cars are located conveniently in various locations around Adelaide city. Save money by borrowing a car near where you are staying rather than at the airport. Getting to the car By bus Adelaide Metro also offers a convenient JetBus service to Glenelg, West Beach and the City, servicing all stops en route.   JetBus is a Metro card service. Metro cards can be purchased from the airport ticket vending machine at the bus stop. The machine takes coins, notes and eftpos.   Pick up and drop off is from the bus stop located on the left hand side of the plaza as you leave the Terminal. Click here for Adelaide Airport grounds map.   Ride sharing Ride sharing services such as Uber are now available at Adelaide Airport. Our designated pick up facility is just to the left of the short term car park as you leave the terminal. Walk across the main pedestrian plaza and then cross at the pedestrian lights at the pick-up and drop-off zone. Remember you will need to book your ride-sharing service using the relevant app before proceeding to the pick-up facility. Please note processing of access card applications may take up to 14 business days.   Taxi Taxi drop off is located at Atura Circuit, between the terminal and Atura Hotel. Access to the terminal is via the northern doors. The lifts or escalators will take you to departures on Level 2. To exit the airport, there is a designated taxi rank located to the left (western side) of the pedestrian plaza as you walk out of the terminal. There is a $3 levy added to all fares for taxis leaving the airport.

No credit card? No problem. Once you’ve joined up for free, you can hire a car without a credit card. We accept any Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card - just make sure it has the necessary funds available! Note that all members will be charged a $150 deposit on their first booking, which will be returned after the trip is completed.
