My partner and I arrived to the car and tried to start it and the battery was flat, I contacted the car owner and they said I should call RAC. After calling the RAC they arrived, use their jumper cables and we were on our way eventually. My partner and I drove hour and a half away in Mount Martha which we arrive to the event late due to waiting for the RAC. After the event the car wouldn’t start. we tried asking everyone for jumper cables and eventually called RAC again. They arrived approximately 40 minutes after and we were there in total for about an hour and 20 minutes. It completely messed up our plans if I’m honest. The person from RAC said at this battery had been reported flat before so I’m under the impression that the car owner knew of this. On returning the car it was inevitably late, which we received a late fine and as of now the car owner isn't responding to my texts. something quite strange is going on here?

Hi, Thanks for booking the car, and apologize for the inconvenience during your trip. The battery has been replaced. The vehicle works fine with the original key. However the Bluetooth device was faulty, which didn’t allow the dummy key to start the engine, and might be the reason you couldn’t find “lock” and “unlock” feature on the App. Uber Carshare’s technician came to replace the wire and the device. Problems are solved and the car is good to go. The device automatically detects your location when it’s time to return the vehicle. If the vehicle is not in the home zone, it will alarm the system and lead to the late return fee. This is part of Uber Carshare’s policy. Borrowers can always report the issue so UCS support team can look into it. Hope you understand.
